Meet Dr. Rietz and his friendly and knowledgeable staff who make Optometric Vision Center the leading provider of vision care products and services in the Lewis/Clark Valley and surrounding areas.

Dr. John T Rietz

Dr. Rietz grew up in Walla Walla, Washington, and after receiving his Doctor of Optometry Degree from Pacific University in 1990, he and his family settled in Lewiston. He and his wife, Michele, have raised 5 daughters and one son in the Lewis/Clark Valley, and have 12 grandchildren.
Dr. Rietz is a member of the Idaho Optometric Physicians and American Optometric Association. He is a past president of the IOP in 1999 and also served 5 years on the Idaho State Board of Optometry. He was awarded Idaho Optometrist of the Year in 2004.
When he’s not in the office, Dr Rietz enjoys watching sports games and visiting with family. He is also a master pancake artist, anytime the grandkids come to visit.

Kenra Pollastrini- Optician
Kendra started full time at the Optometric Vision Center in the beginning of 2025. She is responsible for all patient pre-testing, prescription orders for contacts and glasses, as well as glasses adjustments. You may also catch her on the phone scheduling your next appointment!
Kendra and her husband, Joseph, have one daughter and run their own DJ business on the weekends. When she isn’t working, Kendra enjoys cooking, crocheting and spending time with her family.

Jessica Sweet- Office Coordinator
Jessica Sweet has been working at the Optometric Vision Center since May of 2007. She is responsible for all insurance claims/billing and finances. She, as well as the other staff, are also always available to help schedule appointments and answer any questions regarding referrals or medication refills.
In Jessica’s off time she enjoys watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. She also enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, her 2 sons, Jarrett and Justice, as well as her fur babies, Barley and Hopper.
